Bene Tint (from Benefit Cosmetics) and Color Lips-fit Top Coat (from Etude House)

My complexion is that of a typical Filipina - I am not white nor dark, just in between. I am also the acidic type so picking shades of whatever make up for me is a careful decision. Many times I've bought make up just to regret it in the end.. I've been using body shop's lip and cheek tint since time immemorial but I really had problems with its staying power in my skin. The color change bugs me too! After much research and tons of reviews, I've settled to bene tint.

I purchased online, back when benefit cosmetics were not yet available in the Philippines (now Benefit Cosmetics have boutiques in Greenbelt 5 and Trinoma). I was in love with the color on my
lips on the first swipe. It smelled like roses :) I've had a small problem though, it was too dry. It didn't come with any moisture. (I've seen in www.sephora.com that they have a bene balm available. Will post as soon as I get to try that one --> Update on Bene Balm) Bene tint may be used as a cheek tint as well. It doesn't work for me though, it's just so hard to blend and you have to move fast a few seconds after application or you'll leave unwanted streaks on your cheeks LOL.. try Tarte instead.

Color Lips-Fit Top Coat, Etude House (Php 498 or $11.38)

I'm also into lip gloss. I just don't like the immediate drying after an hour or two. Yesterday, while shopping, I encountered this plain gloss from Etude House - Color Lips-Fit Top Coat. I layered it on my bene tint and I was amazed with its plumping effect :) I don't know until when will the bottle last with me but I am sure to make a follow up post on that one, so stay tuned! :) Check out their website at www.etudehouse.ph

after 7 hours, when the gloss had worn off... 

After 7 hours, the tint still lingered.. you just have to reapply the gloss. :) I really love the effect of the tint on me, despite being acidic, its color did not change at all! It's faintly visible after a meal, up to you if you want touch ups.

It's been a few years now but my ultimate go-to tint for everyday use is still bene tint. Fell in love with it at first use! It's got this very natural look that beats nude lipstick of whatever brand and shade. Ditch the gloss if dryness doesn't bother you.
